Joe Hines graduated from Dalhousie University with a Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Undergrad Degree in 2006. Possessing over 12 years’ experience in the operation, design, engineering, construction, commissioning and management of Mining and Milling facilities, Joe accepted a position with East Coast Metal Fabrication Inc. in August 2012 as their Chief Operating Officer, COO. For the past (8) years, in his current position as COO, Joe has been responsible for the overall direction and general management of the company, development and management of financial budgets/cash flow, and overseeing day to day operations in the design, fabrication and provision of field installation for commercial and industrial projects throughout Atlantic Canada.
Stan Katryk, is an Engineering Technologist certified by The Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists of Nova Scotia, a certified Level III Welding Inspector and a Welding Supervisor through the Canadian Welding Bureau. Possessing over 20 years’ experience in the supervision, estimating of tender packages, scheduling, organization and coordination of shop and management operations at Sydney Engineering Inc., Stan joined the team at East Coast Metal Fabrication as General Manager in 2003. For the past sixteen (16) years, in his current position as General Manager, Stan has been overall responsible for the general management of the company’s shop/site and office personnel, planning, coordinating, managing and directing the workflow and manufacturing operations of the production facility.
Tony has been employed with ECMF since 2003. He is an inter-provincial Qualified Metal Fabricator by trade with a Canadian Welding Bureau welding supervisors endorsement. Tony has been involved in all types of large and small fabrication projects with a heavy background in structural steel and custom fabrication. With 18 + years experience there is no job too big or small that he can not handle.
Tammy McCabe has over 25 years’ experience in financial accounting, payroll and human resources areas of responsibility and expertise. Majority of this experience has been within the Provincial Government. Tammy obtained Certificates in Financial Management and Project Management.
Safety Coordinator & Administrative Assistant
Samantha Hines carries her Health and Safety Professional (HSP) Designation and is currently working on completing her Bachelor of Science Degree. She is trained in many different training certifications including Developing Supervisors and Managers (NSCC), Train the Trainer (DAL), SJA First Aid Instructor, Etc. Samantha currently has (5+) years experience with the company during her time here she has faced many new projects and opportunities, her expertise include H&S manual and training creation and implementation, website and social media development, contractor programs and tracking including ISN Networld where the company proudly holds an A status with companies and is responsible for many other projects throughout the company.
Stephen Cantwell is a Mechanical Engineer who has been working in the metal fabrication industry for 5+ years. Having begun at ECMF as a student before later joining the team full time, Stephen has worked through all ends of the metal fabrication process. As a project manager, Stephen is responsible for the start to finish of each project. This includes bidding/tendering, coordinating client’s projects, formulating fabrication packages and planning with ECMF shop/site personal to produce and erect those packages. His keen eye for detail and timely communication ensures clients are satisfied with the completed project, whether large or small.
Kevin Carey is an Engineering Technologist with 7+ year’s experience working in the Oil, Gas and Mining industries in Western Canada. He has a keen eye for spotting operational inefficiency and implementing solutions to boost productivity. Kevin’s client relations skills and the ability to think outside the box allows ECMF clients to receive consistent, high caliber service, they have come to expect.
